Can I take this one step further Rebecca, and I know I’m going to bring a s***storm down on myself for saying this. Let’s call white supremacy what it is; CIs gendered white heterosexual male supremacy. There it is, I said it but I’m afraid this is the truth.

If you consider everything that has occurred from the definition of race to justify the transatlantic slave trade, to the trade itself, to slave owners and masters in the Americas and Caribbean, and then until recently to global political leaders. No other people group has and continues to have such power. No other people group has the power to drive change if only they have the will.

Some have. If we look at great white men like William Wilberforce, (and many others I can mention and I’m sure the readers of this response can too) they have made great advances only for this to be turned by other white men for evil like those who promoted and directly benefited from Jim Crow laws for example.

Let me be clear, and I have said this before, white men are not our enemy! In fact they can be our strongest ally if we can come together in the spirit of anti racism to do what is right. We cannot do this without them, so we need to admit that we need them.
