Dave, even though I don’t agree with your point I understand it.

The situations described by the author could easily be the experiences of all women when taking their car to a garage. It is very common for women to be belittled by men in these circumstances.

The difference here is that the author is a Black woman and she is explaining her experiences as microaggressions because they are not isolated cases, they happen all the time. Her husband is white and when she compares her experiences with that of her husband there is a clear pattern.

Because the author is at the intersection of gender and race it is not easy for anyone without her lived experience to distinguish between what was sexist and what was racist. But take this from a Black person, we know!

Whenever someone challenges our lived experience without understanding our lived experience? they are really only conducting racial gaslighting.
