In my view speak up cultures don’t work unless there is some financial or legal penalty to not speaking up. Racism, sexism, homophobia and others will continue to go unreported as you say Rebecca until companies take the “softer” speak up issues more seriously.
Which companies are ready to expose themselves to public ridicule and financial uncertainty by publicly exposing the prejudice, discrimination and abuse in their organisations? Until companies are willing to agree that it is ok to publicly out those abusing their position nothing will change.
