You too Rebecca?! Unfortunately I have not been so lucky, I’ve been in the same position doing the same job for the last 8.5 years and only in the past year, since speaking up and speaking out about racism, have I been noticed. Before this I was the “good little Black boy” dancing to the tune of this and the other organisations I have worked for in the past where the headwinds I faced were to strong for me to make any headway in my career.

I’m also aware of the narratives said about me that caused opportunities in my current company and all previous companies to evaporate.

No more! I’ve begun to control the narrative and this is making a difference.

Thank you so much Rebecca there are so many points that resonate with my situation. I just goes to show that male privilege for a Black man makes little difference in the headwind of racism.
